Transforming everyday scenes into moments of visual contemplation.

Traveling alone and inspired by the soundscapes of the Exai album by the English electronic music duo Autechre, Leon based French photographer Aurélien Aumond captured his latest architectural photography project Tokyo After Dark: A Silent Symphony of Light.

The project offers a meditative look at the urban environment capturing the quiet, nocturnal beauty of Tokyo, defined by the interplay of light, shadow, and architecture. Armed with just an iPhone, Aumond explores the stillness of urban streets, transforming everyday scenes into moments of visual contemplation.

Emerging from empty street wanderings, his post sunset images focus on the serene glow of Tokyo buildings revealing something of a poetic stillness in contrast to the usual bustling scenes.
