The NYC vocalist, songwriter and visual artist also delivers beautifully trippy music video

“I’m a huge fan of Austin’s work because he’s so musical and a super versatile madman, and we became close during the pandemic, sending ideas and demos for feedback between Glasgow and NYC. One day he was like “You need a nasty track with big bass and space for your voice” and the next day he sent me the first version of “Feel So High.” It was a really fun process, we just wanted to keep it weird and sexy and primal and to the point.” – Fiorious
NYC’s electrifying vocalist and visual artist Fiorious releases collaborative single with UK producer Austin Ato. Arriving today with a visually striking and beautifully trippy music video, Feel So High is out now via Fool’s Gold Records.
Marking the first collaboration between Fiorious and Ato, Feel So High is the perfect pairing of fierce vocals and an infectious house beat. A nod to 90s hard house and reminiscent of classic Romanthony vibes, the video for Feel So High is the latest output from Fiorious’ distinct creative vision.
NYC vocalist Fiorious catapulted to the forefront of the house music scene with 2019’s political call-to-arms I’m Not Defeated and has since been championed by Attitude Magazine as a “boundary-pushing new queer voice” and cited as “the new generation’s Byron Stingily” by FAITH Magazine.
Effortlessly gliding between house and disco, Fiorious continues to collaborate with a remarkable list of artists including Horse Meat Disco, Dimitri From Paris, Honey Dijon, Cassius, Roger Sanchez and Marshall Jefferson, with his first three Defected/Glitterbox singles (produced with Bawrut) garnering huge support from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Calvin Harris, and Mark Ronson. 2022 saw Fiorious kick off the year teaming up with veteran Boston producer Kon to form Saturday Love – a project born of their shared loved for reimagining a sweaty block party utopia, the first single 2 B Free marked Fiorious’ first release on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, receiving strong early support from Dimitri From Paris, Danny Krivit, Kenny Dope, Natasha Diggs, and The Blessed Madonna declaring it “one of the records of the year.”
Like Fiorious, Austin Ato is known as a name who makes records for the dancefloor. Hailing from Glasgow, the rising producer has released a string of bold and colourful music on some of the industry’s most-respected labels including Classic Music Company, Percolate, Phonica White, Defected, Me Me Me, Futureboogie and Delusions Of Grandeur. Picking up support from Honey Soundsystem, Artwork, Horse Meat Disco and Bonobo to Nightmares On Wax, Auntie Flo, Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson and Glasgow’s own Sub Club resident Harri, Ato’s releases have gained several ‘Record Of The Month’ accolades in Mixmag and DJ Mag.
From deep grooves of the underground to raucous drums of the big rooms, Ato’s DJ sets have led him to play many of the best parties in the UK with 2019 seeing him embark on his first Asia tour and a performance at Defected Croatia which label owner Simon Dunmore called “one of the week’s highlights.”
Feel So High is the next chapter in both artist’s glistening discographies and signals the start of a run of new music for Fiorious who will be continuing to link up with some of dance music’s esteemed names and faces across 2023.
