Maya Jane Coles

From underground producer to global star

Case Study

Global Artist PR; from underground producer to global star.

For ten years we are proud to have worked with British-Japanese, producer/DJ, Maya Jane Coles since her first breakthrough record “What They Say” back in 2010.

During the last decade, Maya has graced the cover of over 25 magazines in 8 different countries including Guardian Guide, twice for Mixmag (UK), DJ Mag (UK & USA), Village Voice (USA), Trax (France), Groove (Germany) and Vicious (Spain), alongside coverage as diverse as i-D, Vogue and Nylon through to Rolling Stone and Wall Street Journal.

Maya’s global PR was handled from grassroots by Neighbourhood who not only built up an incredibly strong and uncompromising relationship with Maya and her management team but delivered with career consistency and long-term media advocacy as a priority.

We have navigated Maya’s publicity through a variety of single releases and remixes, studio albums via Kobalt and BMG as well as two compilations for DJ Kicks and Fabric.

Harnessing Maya’s unique PR value and creative strength across the music and fashion sectors, the variety of PR we have co-ordinated has ranged from the headlining global festivals, Dr. Martens AW15 collection, gigging at the Tate Modern to her Boiler Room True Music campaign.

Maya has to date played in over 40 countries and Neighbourhood has been by her side every step of the journey; reenforcing her ever-growing credentials and award winning position at the very top of the game.
