From the heart of Glasgow to the world’s most iconic stages, La La has solidified her position as a luminary in the electronic dance music scene. Today, she proudly releases the full ‘give yourself a try: the remixes’, a collection that not only reimagines her debut mixtape but also showcases the strength and unity of the dance music community she has cultivated over the years. The release comes via her own imprint Brand New Records to empower Scottish artists, that La La founded alongside sister-label Sound As – an outlet for releases coming from beyond Scotland.
Part 1 of the remix collection dropped last month and featured the talents of Tommy 2000, Denham Audio, DJ ADHD and Chloé Robinson, Beau Didier, and Jaymie Silk. With the full release, the album now extends to include contributions from Skream, Kikelomo, Amaliah, Saol Nua, and Pleasure Corp.

Kikelomo explores soulful house, with Rhodes piano and syncopated bass intertwining with warm vocals, leading to a satisfying drop. Amaliah maximises La La’s vocal elements, crafting a UK bass-tinged flow balanced by high percussion and deep bass. Saol Nua offers a dark, driving bassline with haunting percussion and vocal chops, leading to a garage-esque breakdown. Pleasure Corp (Dufraine and Shawn Cartier) conclude with an acid trip layered with staccato synths and a bass-heavy, electro-infused assault.
