Code of Conduct against Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination.

An AFEM Initiative

Case Study

Creating an environment where such behavior is not tolerated, through awareness, education, increased respect, protection and prevention.

As a unified voice for the global electronic music industry, AFEM represents a powerful community, culture and commerce with membership made up of over 200 companies across 25 countries.

Neighbourhood is proud to have established a close relationship with AFEM running their external PR media relations, and digital communications.

In addition to developing ongoing media alliances and exposure for the extensive range of AFEM initiatives from rights-holder policies to mental health issues, Neighbourhood supported the launch of a music Industry Code of Conduct against sexual harassment and gender discrimination.

The campaign was mobilised and delivered at a rapid pace with the results seeing a broad range of music, consumer and trade media supporting.

The publication of the code followed intense debate about sexual harassment and assault within the electronic music world, with several high-profile cases; as such the code was strategically integrated into media coverage and several investigative documentaries from the BBC and subject to much news within the music trade and specialist sectors including Music Week, Musically and Billboard.

Neighbourhood provides AFEM ongoing support in developing high level strategy; to ensure that the association operates in a way which reflects, promotes and preserves the best of electronic music culture.
