Music Publicist

Neighbourhood is seeking a specialist publicist to work across predominately our electronic music client roster within the sectors of music, the arts, fashion and wider culture.

As a publicist your responsibilities will be focused on creating, managing, and delivering campaigns across print, online and other media formats; often representing artists at the beginning of their career journey. Leading and delivering with a strategic approach, going beyond traditional media that generates significant and meaningful value for our clients and continually raises the bar for authentic storytelling.

Experience running artist development, release (single & albums), product and event campaigns either in an agency, in-house or freelance capacity and liaising closely with large client teams across multiple territories is required.

We are looking for a well-networked individual with a deep understanding of popular culture, a passion for all music styles, and a particularly strong appreciation for electronic music in all forms. We are seeking a candidate with a curious and creative mind; an opportunity for an individual to lead specialist and grassroots campaigns independently yet also work collaboratively within the team.

As a publicist your role will include:

– Developing, managing, and executing PR campaigns across Print, Online and Broadcast (UK + International)

– Determining the strategic objectives, strategic narrative, and principal engagement options available.

– Pitching and securing international, national, and regional press coverage across Neighbourhood’s specialist music roster; creating and handling photo, print and broadcast media requests.

– Preparing for and attending meetings with both internal team members and external clients, including management and label executives.

– Providing continuous feedback, consultancy, and creative input across Neighbourhood’s full client base.

– Developing and maintaining positive relations with media covering specialist electronic music, popular culture, and mainstream – initiating and sustaining proactive contact with a broad range of journalists, publications and industry stakeholders.

– Writing and editing press releases, pitches, and other outreach documents.

– Instigating and contributing to new client proposals with idea generation to win both strategic and PR work for new and existing clients.

– Maintaining press and client reports across active campaigns.

This is currently a remote position although availability is there to join one of our two current offices, based in Newcastle Upon-Tyne and London..

Salary Range:  £27K-£30K depending on experience.
