A handshake from the North: inside END.’s ‘pub’ launch party.

Celebrating the launch of the Pub capsule collection, END. invited special guests Sherelle and Special Request, plus a host of local acts, to World Headquarters as a thank you for 20 years of support from our Newcastle community.

One of Newcastle’s longest standing clubs played host to END.’s “Pub” collection launch party: A Handshake From the North. Welcoming attendees in from a cold and wet November night, the storied venue was transformed into a haven of exploratory club sounds and pub-themed entertainment in honour of the launch of END.’s 22-piece ‘Pub’ collection of hoodies, tees and sweat pants.

Becky Woodcock kept the BPM high from the offset as attendees started to fill World Headquarters’ downstairs club space. Taking in the bespoke details of the space and enjoying a pint, a pool table provided entertainment as revellers soaked in the atmosphere. Taking over from Becky, breakbeat scientist Nectax and ZINZILE hopped on the decks for their first b2b set. A clear show of skill, the duo slid between footwork and jungle with precision, delivering a set that lifted the room and set the crowd up for the guests arriving later.

Playing a kinetic set at the 160 BPM pace she is known for, London’s Sherelle kept the room charged as the night moved on; her command of the decks and the way she draws an audience in felt effortless.

Joining forces with Special Request for a b2b, the two pushed things further, driving the room with from heavyweight darkside techno to chaotic, eye of the storm jungle tear-outs that seemed to literally vibrate through the floor.

Taking over for the final set, Newcastle’s very own Neenzy closed the night with a bass heavy run that carried her signature sound.
