North London songwriter and producer Osquello enters 2023 with a new album. The latest body of work titled Romero explores creativity, artistic maturity and fame identity. Romero is available now on all streaming platforms.
Osquello, is the Leeds-via-London multi-talented artist who has featured on NME’s ‘Top 20 Artists’, Radio 1 ‘Best New Artists’ and Matt Wilkinson Apple Music 1. Romero is an 80’s inspired album displaying Osquello’s all-encompassing musical understanding. Taking influences from Prince to Chaka Khan and Thundercat to Dev Hynes (Blood Orange). Osquello fuses styles to make something entirely fresh and original sounding. Ahead of the full release, Say Your Name and Cuffed has already gained playtime on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Jazz FM Radio.
The concept behind the album looks to breakdown and challenge the distraction of fame within music. Osquello asks listeners to focus entirely on the musical output and find a way to relate to one-another. Collaboration is another integrated theme as long-time friend Jkarri joins in after working with Nia Archives, Pinkpantheress, Joviale and Brian Nasty. Whilst Jersey Club movement pioneer Jay Versacemm, Soul vocalist Akin and producer LVUSM contribute towards the final output of the album.
