Iranian-German performer Pari Eskandari delivers a new single on Tricky’s False Idols

Iranian-German performer Pari Eskandari delivers a new single on Tricky’s False Idols imprint. Produced by Pari, Peter Kirn and Tricky, ‘Drehmoment’ finds the singular artist hitting her stride, blending brooding electronics and magnetic vocals in a unique production.

Moving to Germany from her homeland of Iran, Pari studied at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf. Now based in Berlin, the multi-disciplinary artist dedicates her time to writing, recording and performing, as well as bringing attention to the civil rights injustices of women currently living in Iran.

Her last single ‘Chador’, also released on False Idols, was written and released to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of 22-year-old Iranian Mahsa Amini while in custody in Tehran. She had been arrested and accused of violating strict dress code laws.

‘Drehmoment’ captures Pari in a more tranquil state, as her ethereal vocal recital glides over minimal synth pulses and soft kick drums, and a revealing teaser for her full-length album, due for release later in the year.
