Sam Fender

Not Your Average Millennial - hard-hitting indie rock with a social conscience

Case Study

Sam Fender is a natural storyteller. It’s as simple as that. He uses his observational lyrics to tell the stories in his songs. Fender has had a meteoric rise to success.

Neighbourhood is proud to have worked closely with Fender and his management on establishing early media support from key music tastemakers in advance of his major label signing to Polydor.

The Newcastle born and bred singer song-writer is without a doubt one of those talents whom you will fall in love with at first beat and as a grassroots talent was hard to ignore.

The then 21 year old star, a welcome bit of grit in the indie singer-songwriter shoe, surfaced at a critical time when the music scene was saturated with soulless music and punched his way into the industry to stir things up with a raw style that merges deep honesty, fun, a passion for music, and socio-political lyrics; all wrapped in an incredible vocal ability.

Achieving single focus of his first three singles (Play God, Greasy Spoon and Start Again) via Sunday Times Hot Track, The Independent, Guardian Guide and also Sunday Times Culture Emerging Act which subsequently paved the way for him being nominated for the coveted BBC Sound of 2018 by leading industry critics.

We placed music and video premieres with the likes of Clash, Wonderland and The Line of Best Fit while arranging important Introducing interviews with Spindle, Phoenix and The F Word.

Styled photoshoots and interviews with leading titles Notion and The Last Magazine established early PR value beyond the music press and visually extended his focus as a career artist capable of going on to huge credentials.

One Brit Critics Choice Award and two Number 1 selling albums later we couldn’t be prouder of our fellow Geordie.
